I have read a lot about home schooling. There are three books in particular that were influential in giving me a vision for home schooling in our house. One book I have reread a couple of times now is For the Family Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay. This is not necessarily about home schooling but I love the pace of life she writes about, the value of being home and the value of creating a warm home. The other two books are very practical home schooling manuals; The Ultimate Guide to Home Schooling by Debra Bell and Mary Pride's Complete Guide to Getting Started in Home Schooling. These three books along with invaluable, veteran home schooling moms and the blogs I've found online have helped me so much. I'm not quite how sure all of this is going to work out or if I'll make it through first grade but God knows.
